Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a flame-retardant polymer composition especially suitable for parts of electric and electronic fields, having excellent heat resistance, flame retardance and heat stability, consisting of nylon 46 and an epoxy compound of halogenated bisphenol type. CONSTITUTION:A flame-retardant polymer composition consisting of (A) 60-97wt.% nylon 46 having preferably 1.5-5.5, especially 2-4.5 relative viscosity measured by using 96% sulfuric acid in 1g/dl concentration at 25 deg.C and (B) 3-30wt.% epoxy compound of halogenated bisphenol type shown by the formula (X is Br or Cl and preferably Br; Y is H or group selected from glycidyl, alkyl, phenyl, benzyl or derivative thereof; R is direct bond, alkylene, CO or ether group; n is integer required to make >=2,500, preferably 2,500-40,000 further preferably 3,500-30,000 epoxy equivalent; p is 1-4).
