Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable easy cleaning and disinfection by inserting a contact lens between two soft foam cleaning bodies impregnated with a cleaning liquid, bringing the contact lens into pressurized contact therewith, cleaning the contact lens under the oscillation applied thereto and automatically injecting a rinsing liquid to rinse the contact lens and the cleaning bodies. CONSTITUTION:This cleaning device has upper and lower cases 9, 10 forming a housing case 3 and the soft foam cleaning bodies 11, 12 which are open cell foams in said cases. The cleaning bodies have a convex face 13 and a concave face 14 along the curved surfaces of the contact lens 2 and are impregnated with the prescribed cleaning liquid. The stains sticking to the surfaces of the contact lens 2 are removed by the friction between the cleaning bodies 11 and 12 as well as by the effect of the cleaning liquid consisting of a surfactant when a cleaning device 1 is operated after the case 3 is set on an oscillation table 27. The rinsing liquid 28 past a connecting part 35 flows to a heating pipe 31. The liquid boiled by this pipe flows through a riser 32, then through the inside of the case 3 and returns to a tank 28, thereby flushing away the cleaning liquid sticking to the upper and lower cleaning bodies 11, 12 and the contact lens 2. The cleaning and disinfection of the contact lens are thereby easily executed.
