Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve an operative response and to reduce the weight of a device by providing each drive motor for a tape drawing means and an operation mode state setting means respectively.
CONSTITUTION: Both a mode motor 1 and a capstan motor 16 are used for setting each mode of stop, fast forward, picture recording and reproducing. Thus, by equipping the 1st and 2nd motors 1 and 16 for driving the tape drawing means and the operation mode setting means respectively, a mode for changing over the traveling direction of a tape on travel to its forward or reverse direction can be set up by an independent motor. By this method, the response workability of the mode setting operations can be promoted, and since the tape drawing motion and the operation mode setting motion are carried out by their respective independent motors, a small torque motor can be used for the motor 1 for driving the operation mode setting means, thus reducing the total weight of the motors.
