Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep off any interference of exhaust gas in a catalytic converter with a simple structure by rolling a metal sheet on an arbor with each partition plate at both ends, and forming a metal carrier. CONSTITUTION:Each partition plate 20 is solidly formed at both ends of an arbor 19, and a metal sheet 18 consisting of a flat plate and a corrugated plate is rolled on this arbor 19, forming a metal carrier 21. This metal carrier 21 is compactly housed in a converter case 12, and gas inflow ports 14a, 14b and gas outflow ports 15a, 15b all are connected to an exhaust pipe. With this constitution, any exhaust interference in a converter is preventable.
