Abstract
PURPOSE:To switch a position of excitation quickly and to drive a stepping motor at high speed by inverting a direction of the current before reducing the current to zero. CONSTITUTION:At the beginning, as the switches 5 & 8 are on and the switches 6 & 7 are off, the point (a) is at high potential and the point (b) is at low potential. Then, the switches 5 & 8 are turned off and the switches 6, 7 are turned on by the operation of the direction controllers 3 & 4. Accordingly, as the point (a) goes to a low potential and the point (b) to a high potential, the current which has been supplied so far is rapidly reduced. After that, the difference between potentials at a terminal (c) and a terminal (d) is reduced to zero by operation of an applied voltage controller 2. Thus, the current supplied to a phase coil 9 is quickly reduced to zero.
