Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the rigidity of a floor panel in a lower section vehicle body structure of an automobile of a cab-over type automobile having side frames and a front floor which are spaced from each other, by jointing reinforcing members forming a closed cross-sectional shape to the spaced parts. CONSTITUTION:A cab-over type automobile has right and left side frames 11 extending longitudinally of a vehicle body, and a floor panel 12 is jointed to the side frames 11. An engine cover 14 which may be opened to expose a service wheel 13a s provided on the front floor 13 of the floor panel 12. The front part of each of the side frames 11 are bent downward so as to support a front wheel suspension unit while a spaced part S is formed between the side frame 11 and the front floor 13. In such a vehicle body structure, a reinforcing member 31 composed of a rectangular inclined surface plate section 31a and a triangular side plate part 31b and forming a closed cross-sectional shape is disposed in the spaced part S so as to enhance the rigidity of the floor panel 12.
