Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve conveyability and reliability in conveyance of a recording sheet and to reduce the size of the whole of a recording device, by providing a detecting means adapted to detect a miss in conveyance of a recording sheet based on outputs from first and second recording sheet presence detecting sensors. CONSTITUTION:After recording is completed and the rear end of a picture is cut, a feed roller 5a and a platen roller 1 are reversed for a first given time. The first given time is a time in which a recording sheet 4a is conveyed to a position slightly down a line from a sensor 9a. When a recording sheet presence detecting sensor 9a detects a black before lapse of the first given time, a CPU 50 (a conveyance miss detecting means) detects that there is a conveyance miss. After a lapse of a second given time between the starting of reversing of the rollers and a time in which the recording sheet 4a is conveyed to a position slightly up a line from the sensor 9a, also when the sensor 9a detects a white sheet, it is detected by the CPU 50 that there is a conveyance miss. The effect of each conveyance miss is displayed on a display part 18.
