Abstract
PURPOSE:To prepare fine powder of KUMAZASA (Sasa albo-marginata) having high utility value as a food or drink, etc., without lowering rich nutrients of KUMAZASA, by cutting leaves of KUMAZASA into small pieces, drying and pulverizing the piece and sieving the product. CONSTITUTION:Picked leaves of KUMAZASA are washed with water, choiced and cut into small pieces of about 1cm long. The cut leaves of KUMAZASA are spontaneously dried avoiding the direct shine of the sun and, as necessary, dried with hot air of 70-100 deg.C. As an alternative, cut leaves of KUMAZASA are freeze-dried. The dried leaves are pulverized into fine powder with a crusher and the obtained powder is sieved to remove bamboo-like hard fiber components.
