Abstract
PURPOSE:To industrially and advantageously produce the title alpha-type gypsum hemihydrate by concentrating and regenerating a liq. habit modifier diluted with the water secondarily produced in the process by utilizing the waste heat of a high-temp. combustion exhaust gas in a flue gas desulfurizer, circulating, and using the regenerated modifier when alpha-type gypsum hemihydrate is produced from gypsum dihydrate by the pressurized aq. soln. method. CONSTITUTION:A slurry of gypsum dihydrate is heated together with a liq. habit modifier contg. at least magnesium sulfosuccinate or magnesium succinate, and dehydrated to produce alpha-type gypsum hemihydrate in the pressurized aq. soln. method. In this case, the dil. modifier obtained at the time of separating the alpha-type gypsum hemihydrate obtained in the dehydration reaction from liq. is introduced into a cooling and hymidifying part independently provided in the preceding stage of a flue gas desulfurizer, evaporated, and concentrated. The pH of the obtained liq. is adjusted, and a regenerated liq. habit modifier is obtained.
