Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a glazed cement sheet having extremely thin thickness by uniformly sticking a cement-base component consisting of hydraulic cement and thermally-stable aggregate on the surface of a combustible sheet-like base material, furthermore applying a glaze on its surface, and thereafter calcining it to burn out the base material. CONSTITUTION:50-400pts.wt. fine powder of aggregate for cement excellent in thermal stability such as fine powdery chamotte, siliceous sand and andesite powder not larger than 100 mesh is added to 100pts.wt. ordinary hydraulic cement such as Poltland cement and furthermore both an organic-base dispersant such as sodium polyacylate and a hydrophilic organic binder such as aqueous- base polymer latex and added at a small amount and this mixture is kneaded with suitable water and the smooth surface of a combustible sheet-like base sheet such as paper is coated with the kneaded material at 0.5-5mm thickness. After applying a glaze thereon, this is heated at such temp. that the base material made of paper is burnt out and the glaze is melted -950 deg.C to burn out the base material and an extremely thin glazed cement-base calcined sheet is produced and the calcined sheet is finally strengthened by subjecting it to rehydration treatment with saturated steam.
