Abstract

PURPOSE:To calculate a mixed fraction having an integer part, a numerator part and a denomenator part of the same number of digits as the number of digits of a display device, by the same using method as a calculation by conventional techniques, by providing registers of the same number of digits as the number of digits of the display device with regard to each of the integer part, the numerator part and the denomenator part of a fraction. CONSTITUTION:The number of digits of registers for storing the respective numerical values of an integer, a numerator and a denomenator of an inputted fraction is set at least the same number of digits as the number of digits of a display device 17, and of the number of digits which can be displayed is fractionally calculated. That is, to an arithmetic unit 13, a display use register 14, a calculation register 15 and a fraction data register 16 are connected, the display use register 14 stores an input data from a key group 10 and data which has been stored therein is transferred to the display device 17 and displayed, and also, transferred to the arithmetic unit 13. Accordingly, even in case of a fractional calculation whose number of digits is large, it can be executed by the same operation as usual.
