Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve followability, by compensating voltage drop due to resistance and self-inductance of a current-limiting reactor during interruption interval of circulation current.
CONSTITUTION: A circulation current control type cycloconverter 2 comprises positive and negative side converters 2P, 2N and feeds A.C. power to a load 4 through current-limiting reactors 3R, 3S. A.C. power of fixed frequency is fed from a power system 5 through a source transformer 6 to the converters 2P, 2N. Controller for the cycloconverter 2 comprises a current detector 10, adders 11, 16, 20, 22, a current control circuit 21, a second current control circuit 17, an absolute value circuit 13 and positive and negative side phase control circuits 25P, 25N. A correction circuit 30 is inserted to the output side of the current control circuit 21, and constituted with an analog switch 32, an OFF interval detection circuit 33, a differentiating circuit 34 and an adder 31. Consequently, differential voltage is compensated and the terminal voltage of load is held at a predetermined level even during interruption interval of circulation current.
