Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the filter of a large deodorizing capacity with small pressure loss by forming the air cleaning filter with nonwoven fabric of electrically charged fibers mixed with activated carbon fibers. CONSTITUTION:The air cleaning filter has the structure formed with nonwoved fabric of electrically charged fibers 1 spun with activated carbon fibers 2. The electrically charged fibers 1 are made in such a way that a film sheet of polypropylene is electrically charged by corona discharge and the cut it into fibers. And, the electrically charged fibers 1 are spun with the activated carbon fibers 2, and nonwoven fabric processing is carried out by needle-punch and embossing processing to make an air cleaning filter. Consequently, this air cleaning filter removes the dust in the air by electrically charged filter 1 work ing as an electrostatic filter and the odor in the air by the adsorbing action of the activated carbon fibers.
