Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the quantity of mist, by heating the mist on collision plates, forcibly evaporating the mist, and measuring the quantity of the latent heat of evaporation. CONSTITUTION:The upper end of a main body 3 of a vertical tube is made to be an aerosol introducing port 1, and the lower end is made to be a discharge port 2, which is communicated to a sucking pump. Funnel shaped nozzles 4... and collision plates 5... are provided in the main body 3 in several stages. The diameters of the nozzles 4... become smaller toward lower stages. In the collision plate 5, electric heating plate 7 comprising Nichrome alloy is stuck to the upper surface of the main body of the collision plate. The collision plate 5 is connected to a power source 9 through an ammeter 8. Each electric heating plate 7 is kept at a heated state. When mist including evaporating component is collided and attached, the mist is heated and then cooled with a latent heat in evaporation. The value of a current flowing through each collision plate 5 is changed. When the changing amount is measured, the amount of the mist can be detected. The distribution of the diameters of the particles of the mist is determined based on the captured amount and the diameters of the particles in each stage.
