Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to record images free of ununiformity in density, by periodically detecting the temperature of a light-emitting diode array or the ambient temperature at the time of starting recording or during recording, and controlling a unit time of pulse duration moduration or an energization time for the light-emitting diodes according to the detected temperature. CONSTITUTION:When a temperature variation is generated during recording images, for example, when temperature is raised accompanied by lowering in the intensity of light emitted from light-emitting diodes, the ambient temperature or the heat generating temperature of the diodes is detected by a temperature sensor 19 consisting of a thermistor disposed in proximity to the diodes DC1-DCN. When a temperature not lower than a set range is detected, the detected temperature is subjected to A/D conversion by an A/D converting circuit 20, and the resultant signal is supplied to a controller 11. The controller 11 indicates a frequency dividing ratio data DB, which is variable according to the detected temperature and is so set that a frequency dividing ratio is increased with an increase in temperature, whereby energization time for the diodes is controlled. Thus, the intensity of light emitted is corrected according to temperature variations, and images free of ununiformity in density can be constantly obtained.
