Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the title compsn. suitable for electrodeposition coating and capable of being cured even at low temps. to form a coating film having adhesion, weather resistance and corrosion resistance, by combining a specific film-forming binder with a curing catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: 0.1W2milliequivalents of cationic groups per g of resin and 0.2W20milliqeuivalents of alkoxysilane groups per g of resin are introduced into a base resin (e.g., an epoxy resin) having hydroxyl groups and urethane or urea bonds to prepare a film-forming binder (A) comprising a resin having cationic groups and alkoxysilane groups bonded thereto through respective hydroxyl groups and urethane or urea groups. The component (A) and an organotitanium compd. (B) (e.g., titanium oxyacetylacetonate) as a curing catalyst are emulsified in water, if necessary, together with an alkoxysilane. compd. (C) as an external crosslinking agent.
