Abstract

CONSTITUTION: An organopolysiloxane (A) having at least 2 lower alkenyl groups per molecule, less than 101/31mol.% aryl groups based on all org. groups contained in the molecule, and a viscosity at 25°C of 100W20,000cps (e.g., dimethylpolysiloxane having both terminals blocked with dimethylvinylsiloxane) is mixed with an organohydrogenpolysiloxane (B) having units of formula I (wherein R1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group), formula II (wherein R2 is H or R1), formula III (wherein R3 is R2), and/or SiO2, less than 100/101mol.% aryl groups based on all org. groups contained in the molecule, and an average MW of 500W30,000 at a molar ratio of all hydrogen atoms bonded to silicon atoms to all lower alkenyl groups of 0.75W1.05:1.00 to prepare a mixture, 1,000,000pts.wt. of which is then blended with 0.5W500pts.wt. (in terms of metallic platinum) platinum compd. (C), e.g., chloroplatinic acid.
