Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled composition outstanding in long-term weathera bility and corrosionproofness, suitable for applying on metal base, by formulating specified amount of an epoxy compound in a coating composition comprising a polyol component consisting of fluorine-contg. copolymer carrying hydroxyl group and a specific curing agent.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be obtained by formulating a coating composition comprising (A) a polyol component consisting of a fluorine-contg. copolymer carrying hydroxyl group produced, pref. from (i) 30W70wt.% of a fluorolefin, (ii) 5W60wt.% cyclohexyl vinyl ether, (iii) 3W50wt.% an alkyl vinyl ether, (iv) 3W25wt.% of a hydroxyalkyl vinyl ether, and (v) 0W40wt.% of another comonomer and (B) a curing agent component consisting of a polyvalent isocyanate compound or aminoplast compound with (C) an epoxy compound so that the epoxy group concentration is 0.001W2.0mmol. per 1g, on a solid basis, of the components A plus C.
