Abstract

PURPOSE:To exactly produce optical circuit parts which operate at a high speed by previously forming a light control element on the surface of a 1st substrate having an electro-optical conversion effect and fixing the 1st substrate and a 2nd substrate having a specific dielectric constant to decrease the speed non-matching with said substrate by using an adhesive agent. CONSTITUTION:The light control element is produced by forming a light guide 2 and an electrode 3 on the substrate 1. The light control element is then stuck to a supporting plate 5 for polishing by using the 1st adhesive agent 4 and the rear side of the substrate 1 of the light control element is polished to a smaller thickness. The low dielectric constant substrate 6 consisting of quartz or glass or alumina, etc., is stuck to the polished surface of the element by using an adhesive agent 7 and further, the adhesive agent 4 is dissolved and the supporting plate 5 is removed. High temp. is not required in this production process and since the thickness of the org. adhesive agent can be controlled with high accuracy by spin coating, etc., the influence of the electric signal waves on the effective refractive index can be adjusted with high accuracy. The phase speed matching type optical circuit parts are thereby easily and exactly produced.
