Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize a video display and a data display with a display device by switching operation of a driver circuit driving a data line of a display so as to fetch a display signal in real time in a video display mode and 100% fetch the display signal in all pixels in a data display mode. CONSTITUTION: Plural shift registers 16-19 and plural bus lines 20-23 corresponding to the shift registers 16-19 are provided in the driver circuit 15 driving data lines 6-11. Then, in the video display mode, the shift registers 16-19 are driven by transfer clocks with phases different from each other, and in the data display mode, the shift registers 16-19 are driven by the same transfer clock. Then, the display data different from each other are supplied in parallel to the bus lines 20-23, and the video display mode is switched with the data display mode if necessary. Thus, the display for both data and video is realized.
