Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate a trouble attended with multiplication by using a means combining and multiplexing a voice signal subject to band compression and a data signal so as to combine and multiplex a status signal attached to the data signal and the data signal itself. CONSTITUTION:A multiplexing circuit 1 receiving an incoming data signal and a voice signal and outputting a 0-th order group signal, and a memory 2 storing the rule of multiplex are provided. Moreover, a control circuit 3 giving a command to the circuit 1 in response to a frame bit and a status bit is provided. A voice signal whose bit speed is 16 and/or 32 bit/s and a data signal whose bit speed is an integral number of multiple of 2.4kbit/s are multiplexed to generate the 0-th order group signal of 64kbit/s. In this case, a multi-frame comprising 8 frames is defined and a frame bit and a status bit are included to the head l-byte and a block in the unit of 3 bytes is allocated to the channel of remaining data signals and a block of 5-byte is allocated to the channel of the voice signal.
