CONSTITUTION:A carrier is immersed in a solution containing diaquodiamino palladium salt and the carrier is impregnated with diaquodiaminopalladium salt, and then said impregnated diaquodiaminopalladium is reduced to prepare a neutral palladium catalyst. As for diaquodiaminopalladium salt, nitrate is suitable. As for the carrier to be used, the carrier, for which the suspension shows 8-11 weak basic pH when the carrier is suspended in the water, should be selected, and a neutral catalyst is prepared by combining a weak acid com pound and a weak basic carrier. As for said carrier, alumina, silica, active carbon or the like is used.
