Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent burrs from occurring in a work and to improve the efficiency of cutting operation by forming a sharp edge part on a scrap cutter fitted on one die and providing a notch part and a trimming edge on a scrap cutter fitted on the other die. CONSTITUTION:A work W is arranged on a lower die 12, an upper die 14 is moved toward the lower die 12 to fit a swollen part 22a of a lower scrap cutter 18 into a notch part 46 made up by a 2nd edge member 32 of an upper scrap cutter 28. The swollen part 22a cooperates with the notch part 46 to shear a part of the work W. Further, the upper die 14 is lowered to make up an upper scrap cutter 28. The work W is trimmed by edge members 30, 32 and the trimming edge 12a' of the lower die 12 along the lower die 12 and cut somewhat by the edge 24 of the lower scrap cutter 18 and a 1st edge member 30 in the direction intersecting nearly at right angles with the trimming direction. The upper die 14, furthermore, is lowered, the work is trimmed by the upper and the lower trimming cutter 12a, 14a to cut unnecessary sites trimmed by the lower scrap cutter 18 and the 1st edge member 30 of the upper die 14.
