Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain spherical gel having respective powder particles consisting of a superconducting composition and the average particle diameter of the muorder for an oxide superconductor, by using sol as a starting raw material form, converting the sol into an emulsion and gelatinizing the resultant emulsion. CONSTITUTION:This gel for an oxide superconductor is produced from sol using an emulsion of the oxide superconductor. The shape thereof is spherical and the average particle diameter is 0.05-5mum. Two kinds of an aqueous solu tion of a metallic salt and metal alkoxide can be used as the sol. If the aqueous solution of the metallic salt is used as the sol, e.g. a compound capable of constituting the superconducting material, is dissolved in an aqueous solution and converted into an emulsion using a suitable surfactant and an organic solvent which is a dispersing medium. Water in the above-mentioned emulsion is subsequently removed to gelatinize the emulsion.
