Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an antibacterial agent having improved absorption in the body and useful in the field of livestock industry and fishery, by suspending fine particles of oxolinic acid in an aqueous medium containing a specific surfactant and propylene glycol and having a specific pH.
CONSTITUTION: Fine particles of oxolinic acid having particle diameter of ≤4μm, especially 0.5W2μm are suspended at a concentration of 1W10w/v%, preferably 2W5w/v% in an aqueous medium having a pH of 2W8 and containing (A) a surfactant selected from polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester and a polyoxyethylene hardened castor oil and (B) propylene glycol and/or butylene glycol. The ratio of the surfactant to the oxolinic acid particle is preferably 1/(20W5) and that of the propylene glycol, etc., to the particle is preferably 1/(20W2), especially 1/(10W4).
