CONSTITUTION:A rotary disc 1 is provided at the upper end of a rotating shaft 4 provided rotatably on a bearing 3 of a pedestal 2. A plurality of rotary slits 1a are formed at angle intervals of 45 deg. therebetween on the same circumferential position of the disc 1 to build up one disc track with the rotary slits 1a. A stationary slit plate 8 having fixed slits G1-G4 is provided below the disc 1. Light receiving sections 9 are arranged below the slit plate 8 and corresponding to the fixed slits G1-G4. Slit patterns of the slits G1-G4 are provided to fetch a BCD signal, thereby permitting the fetching of an alternating BCD signal having four signals.
