Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a hologram where interference fringes with high similarity are recorded and to obtain a light beam scanner which has a large scanning angle, small aberrations, and large scanning magnification by forming the phase distribution phi of the interference fringes as shown by an equation I. CONSTITUTION:The light beam scanner consists of the light beam generator consisting of a laser 23 and a lens 24, the hologram 25, and a hologram moving mechanism. The light beam emitted by the laser 23 is converged by a lens 24 to illuminate the hologram 25 as a divergent spherical wave. The hologram 25 having the phase distribution of interference fringes as shown by the equation I is manufactured by using N spherical waves while causing off-axis light interference so as to separate diffracted light of (0)th order and diffracted light of 1st order. The diffracted light of 1st order from the hologram is converged on a scanning surface 26 and scanned on the paper surface as the hologram is moved by a hologram moving mechanism at right angles to the paper surface. In this case, a linear moving mechanism for the hologram forms the hologram on a disk board to form a disk on the surface of a drum, which is rotated by a motor.
