A groove plate 6 having a butt guide groove 6a is installed on both the drooping guide plates 2 and 3, and a groove plate 6 having a butt guide groove 6a is installed on both the drooping guide plates 2 and 3. The base 7c of each knitting needle 7 is inserted, and the stem 7a and shank 7b of each knitting needle 7 are respectively inserted into the guide grooves 4 and 5, so that each knitting needle 7 is supported so as to be movable back and forth and up and down.
A comb-like leaf spring 8 is provided below each knitting needle 7 at each open end thereof and acts separately on the lower surface of the shank 7b of each knitting needle 7 to push the knitting needle 7 upwardly. Furthermore, the groove plate 6
A regulating piece 9 is provided below the rear edge to regulate the upper position of each knitting needle 7, and at the rear of the rear hanging guide plate 3, as the carriage 12 slides, the needle 7 is moved up to the chain line position in FIG. A needle selection device 10 is provided which includes a handle plate 11 for locking the knitting needles 7 that are pushed down to select each knitting needle 7 based on, for example, a knitting needle arrangement signal on a needle selection card.

用の針床において顕著に現れる。(Problem to be solved by the invention) However, in the conventional needle bed, the regulating piece 9 for regulating the upward movement of the knitting needles 7 is provided behind the open end of the leaf spring 8. In order to ensure the forward and backward stroke of each knitting needle 7, the length of the knitting needle 7 must be such that the rear end of the knitting needle 7 does not come off from the regulating piece 9 when the knitting needle 7 moves forward.
shank 7b must be formed. In this case, the front and back width of the needle bed main body 1 increases, resulting in a problem that the needle bed as a whole has to be enlarged. This problem is especially noticeable in needle beds dedicated to thick yarn knitting, where the needle pitch is larger than that of ordinary hand knitting machines and the back and forth stroke of the knitting needles must be lengthened in order to knit thick yarn.

In between, the leaf springs 37 are disposed at approximately the same height as the lower surface of the needle stem of the knitting needle 35 located above, respectively.
A spring receiving piece 41 having a lower surface that directly contacts the upper surface of the open end and receives the open end against the spring force is fixedly arranged.

Since the upper surface is received by the lower surface of the spring receiving piece 41, each knitting needle 35 is not moved further upward than the upper position, and there is no need to restrict the rear part of the shank 35b with a restriction piece as in the conventional case. , the back and forth stroke of each knitting needle 35 can be made long without making the shank 35b particularly long.

It is attached by a plurality of screws 38 at. The open end of each leaf spring 37 is formed to have a width sufficiently wider than the left and right width of the shank 35b of each knitting needle 35, and engages with the lower surface of the shank 35b to move the knitting needle 35 to the second position based on the spring force. It is arranged at the upper position shown by the solid line in Figure 1. Both hanging guide plates 28, 29
A spring receiver 39 having a substantially inverted L-shaped cross section is attached to the front side of the rear hanging guide plate 29 at its base end with a plurality of screws 40, and each adjacent leaf spring 37 is attached to the upper part of the spring receiver 39. A large number of spring receiving pieces 41 are formed which correspond to the sides of the open end of the knitting needles 35 and are located between the respective knitting needles 35 .
The plate spring 37 allows vertical and longitudinal movement of b.
A notch groove 42 is formed with a width sufficiently smaller than the left-right width of the open end of the groove. Furthermore, each spring receiving piece 4
1 is the knitting needle 3 placed at the upper position as described above.
It is arranged at approximately the same height as the lower surface of the shank 35b of No. 5. The lower surface of this spring receiving piece 41 directly contacts the upper surface of the open end of the leaf spring 37 to receive the open end against the spring force.

なつている。 Further, an elastic body 43 is accommodated inside the guide portion 27 for elastically contacting the upper surface of the stem 35a of each knitting needle 35 to provide appropriate resistance to its back and forth movement. Furthermore, the rear hanging guide plate 29
A well-known needle selection device 45 having a large number of handle plates 44 is disposed behind the needle selection device 45 . In this embodiment, when the butts 35c of the knitting needles 35 are pressed downward based on the sliding movement of the carriage (not shown), each knitting needle 35 resists the biasing force of the corresponding leaf spring 37 as indicated by the chain line in FIG. It is moved to the lower position shown, and in that state, the handle plate 44 of the needle selection device 45 is operated to perform a needle selection operation. or,
In the state in which the pressing force on each butt 35c is released, that is, the open end of each leaf spring 37 is pressed against the lower surface of the spring receiving piece 41, and each knitting needle 35 is placed in the upper position based on this, as shown in the figure. By sliding the carriage, each knitting needle 35
is moved in the front-back direction so that stitches can be knitted.

No matter what position each knitting needle 35 is in, the knitting needle 35 will not be moved further upwards from the upper position shown by the solid line in FIG. Therefore, unlike the conventional arrangement in which a regulating piece is provided, there is no need for the shank 35b to protrude significantly rearward in order to regulate the upward movement of the knitting needles 35, and the length of the shank 35b can be shortened. Therefore, even in a needle bed dedicated to thick yarn knitting, which is equipped with large knitting needles and has a large front-to-back stroke so that knitting can be performed with thick yarn, the front-to-back width can be reduced to make the entire needle bed compact.
