Abstract

PURPOSE:To control heat generation and the like of a battery and deterioration thereof by detecting the internal temperature of said battery during a charge thereof and by discontinuing a boosting charge at the time of detecting an abnormal temperature. CONSTITUTION:A charge of battery 1 is started and a reset circuit 4 is turned OFF and released, while counting of a counting means 7 and a timer circuit 11 are started. A capacitor 3 is charged through means 2 and when the voltage of said capacitor 3 is higher than that of a reference voltage circuit 5, said counting of the counting means 7 is stopped by the output of a comparator 6 and the capacitor 3 is discharged by the reset circuit 4. If an abnormal temperature-rise is detected by a battery internal temperature detection circuit 13, a charging current is varied by a charging-current control means 10 and a boosting charge is discontinued.
