Abstract

CONSTITUTION:A power device is composed of a power switch 2, a fuse 3, a coil 5, a rectifier 9, a transformer 11 for a converter, a switching transistor(Tr) 17, diodes 32-33, etc., and supplies load 30 with electric power. A resistor (a posistor) 8 having a positive temperature coefficient is mounted at that time. The posistor 8 represents a heating element, and is set up near the Tr 17 (or a diode 28, etc.,). Consequently, oscillation is started when the switch 2 is turned ON, the temperature of a posistor 18 is elevated as the Tr 17 generates heat, and currents flowing through the posistor 18 are reduced. Accordingly, currents to a Tr 7 required at the time of starting reach an extremely small value after the completion of starting, thus reducing power loss.
