Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a transparent soap having excellent transparency through mechanical kneading, by kneading a transparentizing agent-contg. soap compsn. with a biaxial kneading extruder having a kneading zone comprising a number of paddles having a particular shape.
CONSTITUTION: In a biaxial kneading extruder A, a transparentizing agent-contg. soap compsn. is continuously fed from a hopper 1b into a draft 1 while synchronously rotating both rotation axes 3a, 3b in the same direction through either a motor equipped in a driving device 2 or a combination of a driving device, a belt, and a chain and transferred with pushing force of screws 5, 5 to a kneading zone Z wherein a number of paddles 4, 4... having a convex lens- shaped axis section and forming a pair having a phase difference of 90° between the two axes or a number of paddles 4, 4... having a substantially triangular axis section are provided. In the kneading zone, crystals are reduced in size through a mechanical shearing force during movement while kneading and extruded in a rodlike form from a head 1a. The rod is molded to prepare a transparent solid soap product.
