Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize foaming operation, by a method wherein foaming of a foamable molded body is started, the foamable molded body is peeled off from a transfer device and foaming is completed by heating the same further, in an end part of the transfer device. CONSTITUTION:A long-sized thermoplastic high-molecular foamable molded body containing a heat decomposable foaming agent is fed onto a transfer device and the long-sized thermoplastic high-molecular foamable molded body is preheated or crosslinked on the transfer device. Then a foamable molded body is peeled off form the transfer device, foaming is completed and a long- sized thermoplastic high-molecular foam is manufactured. The foaming of the foamable molded body is begun in an end part of the transfer device, the foamable molded body is peeled off from the transfer device and the foaming is completed by heating the same further. With this construction, as peeling properties of the foamable molded body from the transfer device becomes favorable, foaming operation properties are improved and a high-quality foam having neither a thickness change nor a width change is obtained.
