Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease contact resistance and to increase the transfer velocity in an electrolytic cell and current density by providing plural work holding means for holding and releasing a strip work, and successively delivering the works. CONSTITUTION:When the strip work 1 is supplied to the electrolytic cell 11, the work 1 is held by the unoccupied work holding means 14 of the work transfer mechanism 12A or 12B and moved in the traveling direction of a treating line. The work 1 is then sent to the delivery position to the work transfer mechanism 12A or 12B on the opposite side. The unoccupied work holding means 14 is returned to the initial position. The action is repeated, and the work 1 is successively sent in the electrolytic cell 11. The work 1 is then negatively charged as a cathode through the holding part, a DC voltage is impressed between the work 1 and an anode, and the work 1 is electrolyzed.
