Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce noise when a pile is driven as well as raise the efficiency of driving operation by a method in which a concrete sheet pile having a water- conveyance hole from upper end to the lower end is driven into the ground while jetting high-pressure water by means of a vibration-type pile driver. CONSTITUTION:A prestressed concrete sheet pile A of a nearly U-shaped cross section is driven into the ground by means of a vibration-type pile driver. In this case, high-pressure water is supplied to water-conveyance holes 2 and 2' formed from upper end openings 3 and 3' to lower end openings 4 and 4' of both sides of the pile 1 and jetted from the openings 4 and 4'. The flow rate and pressure of the high-pressure water and the driving force of the vibration- type pile driver are regulated according to the characteristics of the ground layer. Grout is also injected into the lower end portion of the sheet pile A by using the holes 2 and 2' for foot protection.
