Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable measurement of a displacement of a shaft according to a normal/reverse load applied thereon, by making a positioning device for a displacement measuring device abut a housing to set a measuring reference point for the displacement measuring device. CONSTITUTION:Before a load is applied on a shaft Y along the axis line thereof, a positioning device 2 for a displacement measuring device is made to abut a housing X on the other end side Y2 of the shaft Y with a load applicator 1 connected to one end thereof of the shaft Y provided piercing the housing X while a measuring element 21 of the displacement measuring device 3 abuts the shaft Y at the other end Y2 thereof to set a measuring reference position for the displacement measuring device 3. A load is applied on the shaft with a load applicator 1 from one shaft end Y1 side to the other shaft end Y2 side thereof to measure a displacement in the same direction.
