Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an antifungal agent containing quaternary ammonium salt of a macromolecular carboxylic acid as an active ingredient and useful as an external medicine for treating athlete's foot. CONSTITUTION:A quaternary ammonium salt of macromolecular carboxylic acid used as an active ingredient and insoluble in water is blended with well- known external base, preservating agent, additive, etc., and formulated according to a conventional method to provide the aimed product. The agent contains preferably 1-50wt.% active ingredient. As a macromolecular carboxylic acid sodium salt, the macromolecular carboxylic acid group is selected from a single polymer or copolymer of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid, carboxymethylcellulose, alginic acid and polygalacturonic acid. Quaternary ammonium group of quaternary ammonium halide is selected from a group consisting of cetylpyridinium, benzetonium, methylbenzetonium, dodecyldimethylbenzylammonium and tetradecyldimethylbenzylammonium.
