Abstract

PURPOSE:To collate a word at high speed by rearranging each word of an arbitrary word kind source by a prescribed reference, making out a word table containing a feature of word length, a second character, etc., and an address table of a head character, and registering them as a word dictionary. CONSTITUTION:According to this system, a user can generate the contents of a word dictionary 17 in an optical character read system with regard to a desired word kind, by a processing of a general purpose computer 2 and a control part 18, based on a word kind source 4. The word dictionary consisting of an address table 31 and a word table 32 is produced by sorting a word, for instance, in order of a software JIS code, and assembling it. The table 31 is provided in order to access to the table 32 at high speed, and constituted of a first character word table pointer whose head character is a key and a second character word table pointer 34 whose second character is a key. To the table 32, word length 35 and the second character link pointer 36 are added. This result is registered in the word dictionary through the control part 18. In such a way, a word collation for a user is executed at high speed.
