Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover Pb in excellent yield by mixing solvent and returned dust into the concentrate of Pb or Pb-Zn base sulfide ore, reducing PbO through a coke layer after oxidation-fusing with oxidizing flame, making crude lead and Zn-containing molten slag having little content of lead and sublimating and recovering Pb-containing Zn vapor in the oxide form from this slag.
CONSTITUTION: Mixed power of lime stone or lime and pyrite as the solvent, is mixed into the concentrate power of the Pb-Zn sulfide ore containing FeS, PbS, SiO2, Al2O3, MgO and ZrS together with returned dust so as to become 0.43-0.76 of CaO/Fe and 5-22wt.% of the raw material concentrate. This mixed material is oxidized and melted in the oxidizing flame. The oxidized dust produced at this time is again returned back to the raw material and a large part of Pb is made to PbO-containing molten metal and passed through the coke layer and reduced into the Pb as the crude lead, and ZnO base molten slag containing a little content of Pb is deposited and made into the Pb- containing Zn vapor, and the vapor is oxidized and sublimated and recovered. In such a way, the Pb in the raw material is recovered in the excellent yield.
