Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a can barrel body excellent in the corrosion resistance against its content, by making the thickness of the film in the processing part in the vicinity of a side seam part less than that of the film in a non-processing part. CONSTITUTION:A welded can barrel body 1 is formed by forming a repairing film 8 to the inner surface of the cylindrical can body formed by electric resistance welding in the vicinity of the welded part thereof and subsequently applying neck-in processing to both opening end parts to form a flange part and mounting a rear end plate 2 to each of the opening end parts by double seaming. The repairing film 8 is relatively thick over the total length thereof but relatively thin in the neck-in processing part 3 of the can body 1 and the processing part of the double seaming part 4 to form a thin film part 8a and the repairing film 8 in the non-processing part 9 of the can body 1 forms a thick film part 8b. The pref. thickness of the thick film part 8b is, for example, about 50-150mum while the pref. thickness of the thin film part 8a is usually about 60-70% of that of the thick film part 8b. The can body wherein the inner surface in the vicinity of the side seam part such as the welded part is coated with the repairing film as mentioned above is excellent in the corrosion resistance against its content.
