Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance accelerating performance without increasing power consumption, when the ignition timing and the current for ignition of an internal combustion engine are controlled, by advancing the electrification starting timing earlier than that in the steady state when the internal combustion engine is accelerated so as to prolong the electrification period. CONSTITUTION:In an ignition device 1, the signals of the crank angle, throttle valve opening, and intake air pressure from respective detectors 2 to 3 are input into a processing circuit 6 via an A/D converter 5 respectively. And in accordance with the calculated result of the processing circuit 6, a fuel injection valve 7 is controlled, and further an ignition coil 9 and an ignition plug 10 are controlled via an ignition circuit 8. In this case, the ignition starting timing is determined by the elapsed time from the reference position of the crankshaft, and further the ignition ending timing is regulated by the rotating speed of an internal combustion engine. Furthermore, the current value during electrification is controlled in correspondence to the rotating condition of the internal combustion engine. And when the internal combustion engine is accelerated, the electrification starting timing is advanced earlier than that in the steady state in correspondence to the accelerating condition to prolong the electrification period.
