Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a visually handicapped person to use a receiver directly by providing a means which displays characters or numbers received from a base station as braille points.
CONSTITUTION: The display part 1 for braille is arranged at a corner of a large surface of the receiver and has an unshown mechanism for raising specific dots mechanically according to the rule of the braille. The user turns on the power switch 2 to receive and store radio information in an unshown memory and then applies his or her fingers to the braille display part 1 to read the characters. Next and previous characters are displayed in order on the braille display part 1 through the intervention of the memory with switches 3A and 3B for braille scrolling. Then the received information stored in the memory is selected and read out with a memory selection switch 4.
