Abstract
PURPOSE:To miniaturize a module by forming a base plate made of a high dielectric substance whose dielectric constant is 60-120 and using a chip formed with a conductor part made of a metallic film to both sides of the base so as to constitute an inductor thereby reducing the cross section of a line conductor. CONSTITUTION:The inductor 10 comprising a chip acts like a dielectric resonator and its line length is reduced in inversely proportion to the root of the dielectric constant of the high dielectric substance and the entire shape is miniaturized. For example, the distance L0 between pads 13A and 13B being the line length of the inductor 10 is decreased. The distance L0 is expressed L0=lambda/4(epsilonr)1/2, where epsilonr is the effective dielectric constant of the base 11 and piis the wavelength of the module with respect to the operating frequency f0, and the line length L0 is nearly 1cm in using a lithium niobate. Thus, the inductor is made small in size fo contribute to the miniaturization of the high frequency module.
