Abstract
PURPOSE:To permit the increase of transmission capacity of an already installed transmission line with minimum plant investment, by a method wherein a different iron tower is newly established at the intermediate position between already established iron towers while the size of a transmission line is increased by an amount coping with the contracted distance between towers. CONSTITUTION:A different iron tower TN is newly established between already established iron towers T1, T2. According to this method, the length of span between towers can be contracted from the length S between the already established towers T1, T2 to about S/2 between the towers T1-TN as well as TN-T2. The size of an electric wire 10 is increased by an amount coping with the contracted length of span thereby increasing a transmission capacity. When the newly established iron tower TN is provided at a substantially intermediate position between the towers T1, T2, for example, and the height of the tower TN is equalized to the same of the towers T1, T2, further, the sag D of the wire 10 is determined so as to be the same degree as so far, the electric wire 10 having the sectional area of 4 times can be used whereby the transmission capacity of the wire may be increased to 4 times.
