Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve response property as a short-circuit protecting device, by inserting a protecting resistance, short-circuited upon normal operation, into a lower system in series by a superconductive switch, detecting short-circuit current. CONSTITUTION:A superconductive switch 2 is in superconductive condition upon normal operation and the movement of an electric power between an electric power apparatus 1 and an electric power system is effected through the superconductive switch 2. When a short-circuit accident occurs at the point of accident 5, the conduction of the superconductive switch 2 is shifted into a normal conduction condition by a short-circuit current and the short-circuit current is conducted through a protecting resistance 3 whereby the short-circuit current may be restrained.
