Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the strength of an absorbing body, to enhance the body fluid diffusivity thereof and to simply and inexpensively prepare the absorbing body, in the absorbing body based on a flexible porous sheet, by forming the porous sheet by impregnating a cellulose pulp sheet with a surfactant solution and irradiating the impregnated sheet with a microwave.
CONSTITUTION: An absorbent article is constituted of an absorbing body 1, the liquid permeable surface material 2 covering the contact surface with the skin thereof and the liquid impermeable leakage preventing material 3 converting the non-contact surface with the skin thereof. The absorbing body 1 is constituted as a porous sheet which is formed by impregnating a cellulose pulp sheet having high fiber density with a surfactant solution and irradiating the impregnated sheet with a microwave. The porous sheet is extremely high in the bonding strength of fibers and hardly generates the cutting or twist of fibers and has the extremely high diffusion speed of absorbed body fluids. Since it is unnecessary to open the cellulose pulp sheet at the time of manufacturing, there is no problem such as the noise accompanied by opening or the scattering of fine powder pulp and an increase in the number of manufacturing processes or the scaling-up of equipment is not generated.
