Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate an irregularity in the brightness in a visual field by shifting a focusing point in position on the incidence end surface of a light guide and varying the distribution of light exiting from a lighting optical system. CONSTITUTION:The image of the projection end of an image guide 12 arranged behind an observation optical system 4 is formed on an image receiving element 17 and information on the irregularity in brightness is inputted to an electric signal processor 11. The electric signal processor 11 analyzes this information and sends a control signal to a driving device 10, which turns a table 8, so that the focusing point P of light emitted by a light source lamp 6 by a condenser lens 7 is shifted in position on the incidence end surface of the light guide 5. The light guide 5 consists of a bundle of several light guides and when the focusing point P shifts in position on the incidence end surface of the light guide 5, the distribution of the light emitting from the lighting optical system 2 varies. Consequently, the irregularity in the brightness in the visual field an be eliminated.
