Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve an allowable limit of welding accuracy by analyzing a singular shape of arc light to detect a groove gap and correcting the welding speed and the objective position of a wire according to the gap. CONSTITUTION:A TV camera 3 is arranged above an upper plate 2 and a lower plate 1 of works to be welded and analyzes a place of the singular shape of the arc light A. When the gap (g) exists between the upper plate 2 and the lower plate 1, the singular shape of the arc light is formed. In advance, the works 2 and 1 without the gap (g) are welded and an average value and the standard deviation of the arc light width and an average value of the distance between the arc light and a weld line at the upper plate 2 side are calculated. Next, a teaching action is carried out and the gap is detected and the welding speed is decreased and further, the objective position of the wire is corrected based on the arc light width at the upper plate 2 side. By this method, it will do only to detect the groove gap and control the welding so as to fill up the gap. Accordingly, the allowable limit of the welding accuracy is improved.
