Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a medicine containing selenium-containing algae and polyunaturated fatty acid and removing the fault of the polyunsaturated acid (production of active aldehyde due to natural oxidation). CONSTITUTION: This medicine contains a mixture of (A) 0.5-50wt.%, preferably 15-25wt.% selenium-containing algae, preferably chlorella, Scenedesmus with (B) 99.5-50wt.%, preferably 85-75wt.% 18 22 fatty acid having at least two unsaturated bonds, preferably 5, 8, 11, 14, 17-eicosapentaenoic acid or 4, 7, 10, 13, 16 and 19-docosahexanoic acid together with a carrier, additive or antioxidant used in ordinary pharmaceutical industries. The medicine is especially effective in treating cardiovascular disease, apoplectic symptom and thromboembolism such as fit, infarction and Keshan syndrome of young patients and preventing abnormal conditions.
