Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve both dry and wet performance by arranging three kinds of grooves in the direction parallel to the tire equator and one kind of oblique grooves with its intersecting angle relative to the tire equator increasing toward the shoulder side and by making the surface areas of respective blocks increase toward the shoulder side. CONSTITUTION:Three kinds of longitudinal grooves G1-G3 and one kind of oblique groove J intersecting the longitudinal grooves G1-G3 and reaching a sub-groove 4 are formed on the tread surface of a pneumatic tire. Inner, middle and outer rib-shaped portions 26, 27 and 29 are divided respectively into inner, middle and outer rows of blocks 26B, 27B and 29B by means of inner, middle and outer factions J1-J3 of the oblique groove J respectively passing through the rib-shaped portions 26, 27 and 29. The angles A1-A3 of the fractions J1-J3 respectively intersecting the longitudinal grooves G1-G3 are set to the relationship of A1<A2<A3. Further, respective areas SB1-SB3 are set to the relationship of SB1<SB2<SB3.
