Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate belt removal and to lower the height of a machine tool by enabling a feed screw to be inserted in as far as to the hollow of a main spindle by means of fixing a removable driving unit in between the circumference of the bearings at both ends of a toll main spindle to give space in the rear end of the main spindle.
CONSTITUTION: When oil is fed through an oil passage A and discharged through B, a flange 14 touches a conical spring washer 27 as a piston B is pushed up causing a cylinder 11 to also be pushed up and a flange 10 to depart from a fixed ring 9 upon a flange 10 contacting a conical spring nut 28. When a piston 13 comes down, a drawbar 21 is pushed out through the medium of the flange 14, the conical spring washer 27 and a projected catch member 26, causing the pull stud of a tool T to be released from a holder 23. The pushing pressure being supported with the flange 10 through the conical spring nut 28 does not reach a bearing 17. When oil is fed through the oil passage B and discharged through A, the flange 14 leaves the conical spring washer 27 as the piston B is pushed up causing the cylinder 11 to be pushed down, the flange 10 to leave the conical spring nut 28 and touch the fixed ring 9, a conical spring 29 sprung and the drawbar 21 pulled up to have the tool T be grasped by the holder 23.
